About the Role
We are looking for a QA Intern who is curious, analytical, and passionate about understanding how products work. The ideal candidate should have strong logical and critical-thinking abilities, basic programming knowledge, and a product-oriented mindset.
This role is suitable for someone who enjoys finding problems, understanding the root cause, thinking about edge cases, and continuously improving the quality of a product.
What You’ll Do
- Understand product requirements, workflows, and business use cases.
- Design and execute test scenarios covering positive, negative, boundary, and edge cases.
- Identify, reproduce, document, and track defects with clear technical details.
- Use logical and analytical thinking to investigate unexpected product behavior.
- Understand APIs, request/response structures, validations, and integrations.
- Write basic scripts/programs to support test automation and data validation.
- Learn and work with automation frameworks and testing tools.
- Analyze logs, API responses, and system behavior to identify potential issues.
- Collaborate with Developers, Product Managers, and other QA engineers to understand and resolve issues.
- Think beyond the written test cases and identify scenarios that may impact real users.
- Participate in regression, sanity, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Continuously improve test coverage and contribute ideas to improve the overall QA process.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong programming fundamentals in any one language such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or similar.
- Good logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Strong critical-thinking and analytical ability.
- Ability to break a complex problem into smaller, understandable parts.
- Curiosity to understand why something works or fails, rather than simply reporting the issue.
- Good understanding of basic data structures, conditions, loops, functions, and debugging concepts.
- Basic knowledge of API concepts, HTTP methods, JSON, and REST APIs is a plus.
- Good communication skills and ability to explain problems clearly.
- Willingness to learn automation and modern QA tools.
Product Mindset
We are looking for someone who:
- Thinks from the customer/user perspective.
- Is interested in understanding the product, not just executing predefined test cases.
- Can identify missing requirements, unclear behavior, and potential business risks.
- Asks the right questions before starting testing.
- Has the attitude of “How can this fail?” and proactively looks for weaknesses.
- Takes ownership of quality and follows issues through to resolution.
- Is comfortable challenging assumptions with facts and evidence.
Preferred Skills
- Java / JavaScript / Python
- REST API testing
- Postman or similar API tools
- SQL basics
- Git
- Basic understanding of automation testing
- Basic understanding of CI/CD is a plus
Who Will Fit Well
A smart, curious, technically inclined problem solver who enjoys programming and understanding products will be a strong fit for this role.
We value thinking ability and learning attitude over prior QA experience.
